# Plans & billing

> Compare the Free, Basic, Advanced and Enterprise plans, understand monthly limits, and change your plan.

CB Customer Cart Manager has four plans. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify — charges appear on your regular Shopify bill, and the current prices for each plan are shown on the plan selection page in your Shopify admin.

> [!NOTE]
>
> These are the standard plan limits. If Codebeans has agreed custom limits for your store, the **Plan Usage & Caps** card on the [home page](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/carts/home.md) always shows the limits that apply to you.

## Choose or change your plan

**1. Open the plan page**

Click **Upgrade Plan** on the home page, a limit banner, or any 🔒 upgrade prompt.

**2. Pick a plan**

Shopify's plan selection page opens. Choose a plan and approve the charge.

**3. Return to the app**

You're brought back to the app on your new plan, and newly unlocked features are available straight away.

> [!NOTE]
>
> A plan must be active to use the app — including the **Free** plan. If no plan is active (for example, right after installing, or if a subscription was cancelled), opening the app takes you to the plan selection page.

## How the monthly limits work

> [accordion] Tracked carts
>
> Each distinct shopper cart that's recorded in a calendar month counts once, however often it changes. Browsing-only sessions don't count.
>
> When you reach the limit, a **Monthly Cart Tracking Limit Reached** banner appears on the dashboard. Carts you're already tracking keep updating — so you can still follow up on them — but new carts aren't recorded until the 1st of next month or until you upgrade.

> [accordion] Draft orders
>
> Each draft order created through the app counts once. When you reach the limit, a **Monthly Limit Reached** banner appears on the Draft Orders page and **Create New Draft** is disabled until the 1st of next month or until you upgrade.

> [accordion] History retention
>
> Carts are kept for the number of days your plan allows, counted from the shopper's last activity. Older carts are removed from the dashboard each day, and permanently deleted 30 days later. On the Free plan there is no retention.
>
> > [!WARNING]
> >
> > Downgrading to a plan with shorter retention removes older carts at the next daily clean-up.

## Downgrading

When you move to a lower plan, features your new plan doesn't include are locked straight away — for example, the popup and support form switch off on the storefront if your new plan doesn't include them. Your settings are kept, so they come back if you upgrade again.

## Cancelling

Uninstalling the app from **Settings → Apps and sales channels** in Shopify cancels your subscription. See [Privacy & data](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/help/privacy-and-data.md#if-you-uninstall) for what happens to your data.
